Needs
Description of items that will need to be backed up.
- GWIFS - main file server
- 73 Gig (Includes all partitions and data. (/, /usr, /home, /boot))
-->Note: there will be excludes..such as /tmp, /proc, etc....
GWIFW - FTP server and Courier-IMAP(mail) server
(FTP 35Gig | Email/21Gig In use ) There are HUGE files that get uploaded to the FTP site, PLUS there are the Mail directories.... I can see the need for two um...?images?..(or vaults) for this one. The mail will expire after a week or so, and the FTP site, well.. we'll have to see.)
and let's not forget the system files (less excludes)
GWIVM - A vmware server that hosts all the apps that just INSISTED on needing their own dedicated windows server. The disk calculation on this is somewhat odd. Most of this server is static. Only the content of the virtual machines change. For this reason, we will list the virtual servers and disk space required under this.
gwiadp - 8Gig Max/1Gig in use - (via an smbmount) Payroll database and overflow data from the cad department that won't convert all their databases to one version causing them to take over the payroll server. (but I digress)
gwifm - 20Gig Max/15 in use - (via an smbmount) File Maker Pro database server SMB volume
gwifas - 8Gig max/4.5 in use - (via an smbmount) Fixed Asset database server SMB volume
Total in use by the Virtual servers - 21 gig
Additionally, complete periodic backups of the virtual server directories will need to be made. (/home/vmware) This is outside the scope of Dirvish and is accomplished by shutting down the vmware guest OS es, scp'ing the vmware guest machine virtual files to a backup location and restarting the guest OS es.
